David Corr, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, has been appointed the new director of the Center for Modeling, Simulation, and Imaging in Medicine (CeMSIM). A true interdisciplinary endeavor, the CeMSIM seeks to develop advanced  modeling, simulation and imaging technology for healthcare, and transition those technologies to clinical practice – from the lab bench to the hospital bedside. The CeMSIM has been developed with the following mission:

To actively develop advanced Modeling, Simulation and novel Imaging (MSI) technologies for healthcare through interdisciplinary collaborations with the aim of transitioning the technology to clinical practice – from  the laboratory bench to the hospital bedside.

CeMSIM is a vibrant, institute-wide research center with diverse membership, drawing from multiple departments within the School of Engineering and the School of Science. The center has built strong collaborations with hospitals, academic institutions, and industry, within the NY Capitol region (e.g., Albany Medical College, GE Global Research Center, Kitware), and beyond – both nationally and internationally. CeMSIM has a long track record of significant external federal funding from national agencies, including NIH, DoD, and DoE, as well as NY State.
