Sez-Jade (Kathleen) Chen, a doctoral student in the Functional and Molecular Optical Imaging lab of Dr. Xavier Intes, has received a Poster Award at the World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC) in New York City. The WMIC is a competitive international conference, featuring experts in molecular imaging from academia and industry. Her poster, titled “Time-gated Phasor Analysis for Fast in vivo Kinetics of Ligand Receptor Engagement” was one of nine posters awarded out of over 800 abstracts submitted to the conference and the only poster awarded in its category “Instrumentation, Computation, & Omics.” The presented work, performed in collaboration with Dr. Xavier Michalet from UCLA and Dr. Margarida Barroso from Albany Medical College, demonstrates the utility of the phasor technique for monitoring kinetics of near-infrared Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) for in vivo observation of drug delivery efficacy.
