One of our undergraduate students, Alexandra Rindone, has been awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. Alexandra is set to graduate this May and is planning to attend Johns Hopkins University for graduate school. Additionally, two of our graduate students, David Kingsley and Max Winkelman, received honorable mentions by the NSF. The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is the country's oldest fellowship program directly supporting graduate students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. Since 1952, NSF has funded more than 46,500 graduate research fellowships out of more than 500,000 applicants. Fellows receive an annual stipend, opportunities for international research and professional development, and have the freedom to conduct their own research at any accredited U.S. institution of graduate research they choose. The GRFP has a long history of selecting recipients who achieve high levels of success in their future academic and professional careers. The reputations of GRFP follows its recipients and often helps them become lifelong leaders who contribute significantly to both scientific innovation and teaching.
