Professor Xavier Intes' proposal, "Optimization of Hardware-based Neural Network Accelerators for Fluorescence Lifetime in Biomedical Applications" has been selected as a Future of Computing Research Collaboration project, a partnership between RPI and IBM. This research program is focused on developing AI-powered hardware accelerators for fluorescence LIDAR, utilizing a quantum camera. The integrated intelligent camera system is expected to significantly advance real-time guidance for tumor resection procedures.
